Dear Kaydean and Masters Staff,

I wanted to thank you for the education I received while at Masters. Everything I have learned has helped me tremendously in my new profession. When I came to Bloomington I applied to a salon called Mondo Salon and Spa.

They needed a nail technician at the time so I took the job doing manicures and pedicures while simultaneously working as a hair associate. I have worked my way up to hair designing as we changed ownership and locations.

I now work at J2 Salon and Spa in Bloomington. I work part time because I am also going to school full time for my business degree. My clientele is building pretty quickly; I am busy almost every day. J2 is an upscale, full service salon and spa. Our clients have wine, water, coffee, or tea available to them and we offer the most relaxing atmosphere possible.

Every weekend this summer we have had at least one wedding party. I have styled two brides and more than 20 bridesmaids. My updo skills are beyond the majority of our stylists and my prices have been raised to the senior designer price. I was very scared a few weeks ago when a high school girl requested finger waves into curls for her prom. I never thought I would have to do finger waves again but I was wrong. The style turned out beautifully and the girl loved it.

Another thing I am thankful for the professionalism you have installed in me. Although I complained often in school, I still have not worn my hair in a ponytail at work. Our dress code is all black during the summer and we wear suit jackets in the winter. I enjoy looking professional so my clients and co-workers respect me.

I am so glad I was given the best skills and education possible and I hope to continue to become more successful as I work with many more clients.
