Masters of Cosmetology is committed to providing an education to both female and male students in the art and science of beauty. We are proud of our dedication to professional excellence in cosmetology training, and we provide our students with that same professional excellence, skill, and self-confidence that can lead to prestige, self-fulfillment, and financial security.

Ron Blackman - Founder

Masters of Cosmetology was started in 1980 by Mr. Ron Blackman and other investors. In 2001, Ron and his wife, Kaydean, purchased the remaining shares of the school from the other investors and became the sole owners. Four short years later, on May 6, 2005, Ron passed away unexpectedly. His wife Kaydean, step-daughter, Kari, and their dedicated staff, continue to operate the school in the same professional tradition as Ron established years ago. After the passing of Ron Blackman, and Bonnie Manley (of San Diego, California), these Pivot Point member school owners were honored with a congressional reading in the Illinois House of Representatives.

These special individuals dedicated their lives to educating the United States next generation of cosmetologists, and they honorably supported Pivot Point’s philanthropic commitment to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Manley and Blackman their respective schools, along with their staff and students raised over $60,000.00. To honor their commitment to children, the Pivot Point Member Schools have created the “Manley-Blackman Spirit Award.” This award will be given to a Pivot Point school owner, faculty member, or staff person who demonstrates a willingness to push limits, has shown a commitment to community service, inspires others to be the best they can be, and demonstrates perseverance in the face of adversity.
